This panel lets you pick networks.
But note! You do NOT need to use this qualifier in most cases!
Here's why: TView will automatically pick up viewing information for each station or network separately, and all of this detail by network will be available to the planner when a new plansheet is created. Suppose that you define a daypart "Daytime" by day and time ("Mon-Fri 10 am to 3 pm") and by source group ("Broadcast"). TView will use this directive to collect viewing information for this daypart, for each network separately. That is, will gather information for daytime for NBC, daytime for CBS and daytime for ABC, without your having to do anything extra. After the database is constructed and you create a plansheet using it, when you choose the "Daytime" daypart, you are asked which networks you want, and if you want them combined or listed separately.
So, you get all the networks, and can plan for them individually=, even if you don't use this tab.
So, then, what is this tab for?
The most important purpose is to save time. It takes time for TView to pull the viewing information for every network in the period requested. If you only need one or a few networks for some special purpose, the database construction will go much quicker if you specify those networks.
Another factor is disk space. The finished database will be smaller if only a few networks are included. (And that keeps the guys in I.T. happy.)
Also, in some cases you may wish to have planners see your own grouping of, say, cable networks. In that case, you would want to attach a list of networks to different daypart entries.
How to Use This Panel
Select a network by clicking on it. Following the usual Windows rules, select multiple networks by control-clicking on additional nets.
You can sort the entries in the list by their abbreviations or by their full names by clicking on the column headings.
