DVRs and Delayed Viewing

When a program is recorded on TiVo or other DVR, or viewed with a Video-on-Demand (VOD) service, it becomes easier for a viewer to see programs airing at times that would otherwise be inconvenient.  But it's also easier to zip through commercials. TView gives you the option of how it should count viewing like this.

The "Live" choice means that we should only count programming viewed as it's received.  The other choices include a progressively longer period of delayed viewing in our counts.

Note:  The choices available vary with the data source.  For example, while the U.S. Nielsen All-Minute data enables any of the choices shown in the dialog, the U.S. Nielsen Mid-Minute data only permits Live, Live+Same Day, and Live+7.

Your choice made on the "Settings" page applies to the entire script.

Setting for an Individual Line

This option is also available for individual script daypart lines. That lets you change the setting for particular lines, without affecting the whole script. For example, a researcher might want to compare Live and Live+3 for a daypart.
